This is a domestic Polydor original pressed at Monarch, it knocked out a variety of pressings in a recent shootout. Layla is a tough album to find good sound for, so many copies suffer seriously from grain and/or distortion. And finding a quiet one is no easy feat on its own! This copy sounds very good -- rich, warm, and full-bodied -- and plays significantly quieter than most. I've struggled with copies that fall apart as soon as you turn them up, but this one remains smooth enough to enjoy at the kind of loud levels you'll want for this music.
Allmusic gives Layla 5 stars and calls it Clapton's greatest album.
Cover: VG+ (light wear on edges)
Play notes: Excellent sound and quieter than most copies
