This is a domestic Atco Yellow Label Original copy pressed at Presswell. The sound is clean, clear, and lively with excellent presence, elements that really bring this classic southern rock to life. I know that many people favor the Monarch pressings, but the best Presswell copies win my shootouts for this album probably just as often. It's all about getting a good one, and this copy is certainly that!
I sometimes mention the pressing plant as many audiophiles and collectors have specific thoughts about the versions they like. I have different favorites for different albums of course, but a couple of letters on the label or in the dead wax are never a complete guarantee with regards to sound quality. The good news is that I do make complete guarantees regarding sound quality, and if you don't agree that this is an impressive copy you can send it back for a full refund. But I don't expect that whoever snags this one will be turning it back my way.
This is probably my favorite Allmans studio album, it gets 5 starts on Allmusic and has great songs including Midnight Rider, Revival, and In Memory Of Elizabeth Reed.
Vinyl: EX (tiny edge warp has no effect on play)
