This is a gorgeous Flying Dutchman White Label Promo copy of a soul-jazz classic. The sound is excellent and the vinyl plays quietly. Another record that I'm sad to part with but I imagine someone out there will be excited to give it a good home. (I can already sense a former employee of mine who was a major Pretty Purdie fan seeing this and having trouble believing I'm putting it up for sale. I'm slowly making peace with the idea of a "pass-through collection" but I admit it's hard to let go of some of this stuff!)
4 1/2 stars Allmusic and featuring great versions of What's Going On, Ain't No Sunshine, Aretha's Day Dreaming and more. The drumming is, of course, off the charts and the sound of this copy presents it beautifully.
Cover: VG+ - 4" split on top seam, tiny corner dings, still gorgeous. I was able to clean off the small spots under the Flying Dutchman logo after I took the picture.
Play notes: Excellent sound, quiet vinyl, and really fun drum-propelled music
