This is a wonderful sounding early US pressing of Creedence's debut with quiet surfaces. The cover has the red "Includes Suzie Q" graphic and the record was pressed at RCA's Hollywood plant. More importantly, this copy has knockout sound - I've played a ton of them and they're all over the map but this one is no joke! It's super full-bodied and surprisingly smooth, unlike so many Creedence records which suffer from a gritty, edgy quality. I listened to "I Put A Spell On You" from this copy just before listing it and it sounded good that I could have sat and played it five more times. This is the kind of record I love surprising people with when they come over, because who's used to hearing CCR records sound amazing?
4 stars Allmusic: "The band's sound is vibrant, with gutsy arrangements that borrow equally from Sun, Stax, and the swamp."
Vinyl: EX (as clean a copy as I've ever seen)
Cover: VG+ (light ringwear)
Play notes: Phenomenal sound and quiet vinyl, a truly great Creedence pressing!
