This is a wonderful sounding early US pressing of Creedence's debut with quiet surfaces. The cover has the red "Includes Suzie Q" graphic. More importantly, this copy has knockout sound - I've played a ton of them and they're all over the map but this one is no joke! It's super full-bodied and surprisingly smooth, unlike so many Creedence records which suffer from a gritty, edgy quality. I listened to "I Put A Spell On You" from this copy just before listing it and it sounded good that I could have sat and played it five more times. This is the kind of record I love surprising people with when they come over, because who's used to hearing CCR records sound amazing?
4 stars Allmusic: "The band's sound is vibrant, with gutsy arrangements that borrow equally from Sun, Stax, and the swamp."
Vinyl: VG+ (one or two superficial scuffs)
Cover: VG+ (light ringwear)
Play notes: Sounds great and plays quietly (slightly noisy intro, quiets quickly)
