This is an Original Round Records pressing still in the original shrink. It sounds wonderful and the vinyl plays quietly. The band is a Mickey Hart project with a lineup of eleven drummers here (including the great Zakir Hussain) on a variety of exotic percussion instruments. These originals were mastered by Kevin Gray at Artisan (many of you may be familiar with his work, he's still at it today) and can be super impressive. Jerry Garcia guests on Happiness Is Drumming which is the song that evolved into the Dead's famous Fire On The Mountain. As someone who grew up a drummer and a Deadhead, and is married to an ethnomusicology major who kills on percussion, this album is *extremely* up my alley and I highly recommend it.
Allmusic: "A compelling and powerful recording that draws in the listener with its spellbinding rhythms."
Vinyl: EX (a couple of superficial hairlines)
Cover: VG+ (small cut corner, still in shrink, really nice)
Play notes: A strong sounding copy with quiet vinyl
We prefer to overdeliver and therefore grade conservatively. Our scale runs Near Mint (NM), Excellent (EX), Very Good Plus (VG+), Very Good (VG), Good Plus (G+), Good (G).
