This is an original UK Island pressing (1U/1U stampers) in a gatefold cover with phenomenal sound from start to finish -- big, powerful, and dynamic. When you get your hands on a good pressing like this one, Tarkus is an absolute sonic tour de force. I like my prog records big, rude, and in my face -- this pressing does all that and then some. The bottom end has real weight, the drums cut through with real power, the organ and synths have just the right texture and the overall sound is larger than life. My price on this reflects the hard work that goes into finding a copy that sounds this good and plays so well. If you have access to a bunch of clean Brit originals you could probably track down a similar one; whether you want to spend your free time frantically searching for a killer pressing or simply enjoying one I've already sweated over is up to you.
Cover: VG (thin 3" tear near spine, corner wear)
Play notes: Amazing sound throughout, light surface noise to start each side and then quiet
