This is an excellent sounding UK reissue from the '70s or '80s on CBS Records. I'm one of those people who enjoys the Peter Green era, the Buckingham/Nicks era, and the years in between when it comes to this band. But since you can't go anywhere without hearing their big '70s pop hits, it's always especially fun to find a record that knocks it out of the park for their earlier stuff. The sound here is rich, full-bodied and solid and the vinyl plays quietly. Pious Bird is compiled from the Peter Green era and has great songs including Black Magic Woman, Albatross, and Need Your Love So Bad.
Allmusic gives it 4 1/2 stars and says is "makes for a terrific laid-back stroll through some of the best British blues music ever made." Combine a great tracklist with the excellent sound here and this copy makes for an equally great way to either familiarize yourself with this great version of the Mac or fill a gap in your collection.
