This is a 1970 UK Island Pink Rim pressing with wonderful sound. I'm not an expert on Free but I always enjoy the heck out of this album when I find a good one -- it's a great sounding recording and the music is really solid. This copy delivers everything I look for from this album -- it's super rich, very punchy, and impressively transparent. I very rarely see clean copies of this one out in the bins -- even the domestic copies are tough to come by -- so if you want to hear this band at their best then I heartily recommend snatching this one before someone else does!
4 1/2 stars Allmusic: "Even at its most commercial ("I'm a Mover" and "Worry"), Tons Of Sobs has a density that makes Zeppelin and the rest of the era's rock contemporaries sound like flyweights by comparison."
Vinyl: VG+ (a couple of light marks but plays like a champ)
Cover: VG (significant edge wear but solid)
Play notes: Incredible sound, mostly pretty quiet, a few light ticks during "Moonshine"
We prefer to overdeliver and therefore grade conservatively. Our scale runs Near Mint (NM), Excellent (EX), Very Good Plus (VG+), Very Good (VG), Good Plus (G+), Good (G).
