This is a Decca Original pressing from 1959 of a very cool album featuring an incredible line-up of jazz greats - John Coltrane, Bill Evans, Max Roach, Phil Woods, and Art Farmer, just to name a few! It's a group of songs with New York themes and beatnik-style narration by Jon Hendricks. It functions as an amazing time capsule for a long-gone era with a killer soundtrack. The sound is strong throughout, and it's fun to follow along with the liner notes to see who from this massive lineup is taking the solos. A tough record to find in any condition, and this one is gorgeous.
