This is a domestic Warner Bros. White Label Promo copy of a great early live Dead album with both acoustic and electric selections from a legendary pair of February 1970 shows. The sound is clean, clear, and natural, the vinyl plays mostly quietly with a handful of scattered light ticks on side one.
Allmusic gives the album 4 stars and says of the electric side: "The two electric offerings -- a cover of Howlin Wolf's "Smokestack Lightnin'" and Otis Redding's "Hard to Handle" -- are full-blown rave-ups allowing the entire band to weave their collective R&B-influenced psychedelia, unedited and in real time."
Vinyl: VG+ (light hairlines, mostly on side one, nothing too significant)
Cover: VG+ (small splits on top and bottom seam, ringwear)
Play notes: Very good sound, mostly quiet vinyl
We prefer to overdeliver and therefore grade conservatively. Our scale runs Near Mint (NM), Excellent (EX), Very Good Plus (VG+), Very Good (VG), Good Plus (G+), Good (G).
