This is a British Atlantic pressing made with Robert Ludwig's mix, it plays quieter than most domestic copies I've heard and sounds quite good. I still think the ultimate Houses sound is found on the best US copies but there's a lot to like here -- it's lively and natural but maybe missing a little of the bottom end heft that you get on a top copy. What's especially notable about this copy is how quietly it plays, including The Rain Song and No Quarter which are usually sandpaper city on a typical copy -- even the clean ones! I've played literally hundreds of copies and finding one that can get through it all without surface issues has always been a challenge. If you're a boss level audiophile who only wants the very best, you can always hit me up directly for one of the ultimate pressings (they don't come cheap), but this one would make most people very happy, especially those who are picky about quiet surfaces!
