This is an original British CBS pressing of this 1973 fusion classic. The better UK pressings like this one take this beast of an album to another level. The sound is very lively and dynamic with excellent bass and serious immediacy -- it really jumps from the speakers nicely. There's a touch of surface noise behind the music at times (almost never hear a copy without at least some) and a few light ticks during the intro to side one, but once the music gets going it plays very well.
5 stars Allmusic: "Although it has much of the screaming rock energy and sometimes exaggerated competitive frenzy of its predecessor, Birds Of Fire is audibly more varied in texture, even more tightly organized, and thankfully more musical in content."
