This is a domestic RCA pressing on the black label, which means it was pressed sometime after 1976. There's no bar code on the cover, so my guess is it's from the late '70s as bar codes became common around 1980. I am always on the hunt for great Nina Simone vinyl but finding pressings that sound good and play quietly is a serious chore. Thankfully this pressings delivers on all counts. The sound is clean, clear, and natural with good energy and impressive dynamics. It's a fun album with covers of then-contemporary songs like "Just Like A Woman," "Mr. Bojangles," and of course the title track.
Vinyl: EX (very clean)
Cover: VG+ (light ringwear, light corner wear)
Play notes: Sounds very good and plays quietly
We prefer to overdeliver and therefore grade conservatively. Our scale runs Near Mint (NM), Excellent (EX), Very Good Plus (VG+), Very Good (VG), Good Plus (G+), Good (G).
