This is a beautiful '70s Contemporary Yellow Label Stereo pressing. The sound is superb and the vinyl is very quiet. This isn't your typical Ornette "blast off into the cosmos" style of free jazz, it's much more relaxed though you can definitely hear his sound in there. Don Cherry is great on trumpet here as the two legends play off each other nicely. Like so many Contemporary recordings by Roy DuNann, the sonics are off the charts -- the guy is a master of natural jazz sound. The vinyl and cover are both in incredible condition and I just don't think you could ask for a much nicer copy. If you want to hear jazz that pushes at the boundaries of normal without completely losing form, this is a great way to start. You can always come back to me for some truly face-melting chaos jazz once you've accepted this gateway Ornette into your life!
Play notes: Superb sound and very quiet vinyl - a knockout!
