This is a British CBS original stereo press of the first album by Paul Simon, which didn't see a domestic release for many years. This won't replace the Simon & Garfunkel albums in your collection, but it you're a big fan of the material it is fun to here these early solo renditions. The sound is quite nice and the vinyl plays quietly with just some light surface noise between tracks.
4 stars Allmusic: "The resulting album is spare, almost minimalist, as Simon runs through raw and unaffected versions of songs that he was known for in London, including The Sounds of Silence, The Sun Is Burning, I Am a Rock, A Simple Desultory Philippic (in its earliest form, and far nastier than the version later done by Simon & Garfunkel), and Kathy's Song."
Vinyl: VG+ (light superficial mark on side one that does not affect play)
Cover: VG+ (small tear and tiny writing on back)
Play notes: A solid copy all around
We prefer to overdeliver and therefore grade conservatively. Our scale runs Near Mint (NM), Excellent (EX), Very Good Plus (VG+), Very Good (VG), Good Plus (G+), Good (G).
