This is a domestic Warner Bros. original pressing mastered at Sheffield with SH1 stampers. A ton of copies you see out and about are Record Club pressings, and in my experience they just don't deliver the kind of sound you get here. This one is phenomenal -- big, rich, and natural with a ton of energy. Having played a ton of these over the years (like any good specialty vinyl dealer who came of age in the '80s should), I can definitely report that there is a pretty wide range of sound quality for even the standard pressings. This is definitely a very good one, and I think it would beat a lot of the copies out there.
5 stars Allmusic: "All of the stylistic experiments add up to a stunning statement of purpose that remains one of the most exciting rock & roll albums ever recorded."
Vinyl: VG+ (light wear, plays great)
Cover: VG+ (1" tear on top seam, light crease)
Play notes: Excellent sound, light noise behind intro but quiet after that
