A really fun record! This is a 1967 Stereo Original on Repeat Records. Dig this: the recording was made completely without microphones, using what's called in the liner notes "The Barcus-Berry technique". The sound is quite different from your standard jazz recording and actually pretty impressive -- the music really jumps from the speakers. I really like the music as well, it's fairly standard organ trio fare with a killer rhythm section of Leroy Vinnegar on bass and Shelley Manne on drums, both of whom you may know from great jazz albums on Contemporary. If you like organ jazz and you're looking for something a little different, I definitely recommend checking this out.
Cover: VG (tiny price tag tear, light ringwear, corner bumps. Very nice overall.)
Play notes: A fun recording that really pops, vinyl plays quietly
