This is an original Captiol pressing of an album I almost never see out in the bins. Shiva's Headband were a psych-rock band from Austin, and in fact the first rock band from that city to get a major label deal. They were also behind the Armadillo World Headquarters nightclub where a ton of famous acts would play in town. Musically, it's sort of psych-informed country-rock and a good deal of fun. The sound is natural and balanced, and while I haven't played a ton of these it sounds pretty correct to me. The vinyl plays super quietly. These go for decent money online these days but I'm keeping this one reasonable so someone can take a chance on it.
4 stars Allmusic: "The album is formidable, and its influence on the "galactic cowboy" genre was as great as, say, Love's Forever Changes was to the West Coast rock scene. It laid the groundwork for psychedelic twang and brought the world's attention to the creatively diverse (yet firmly rooted) music that was beginning to blossom back in those Texas heyday."
Vinyl: EX (some superficial scuffs)
Cover: VG (substantial creases, cutout hole extends to edge, radio station letters on label)
Play notes: Good sound and very quiet vinyl.
