This is a really nice DGC original pressing from 1990. The sound is strong and the vinyl plays mostly quietly with a touch of surface noise audible in the quietest parts such as intros and outros. Nirvana gets a lot of credit for taking punk mainstream in the '90s but none of that happens without this era of Sonic Youth in my opinion. My favorite Sonic Youth album changes like the weather but this one is always near the top. Like so many classic records from the '90s when vinyl wasn't being pressed in huge numbers, these are tough to come by and never found for cheap.
4 stars Allmusic: "Any doubts as to the continuing relevance of Sonic Youth upon their jump to major-label status were quickly laid to rest by Goo"
Vinyl: VG+ (a light mark on side one that does not affect play)
Cover: VG+ (corner ding upper right, very nice overall)
Play notes: Good sound and mostly quiet vinyl
