This is a super clean Warner Bros. White Label Promo pressing from 1968 of a great country-rock classic. It plays super quietly with relaxed, natural. My fellow Deadheads will likely enjoy dig the versions of Mama Tried and Sing Me Back Home (not to mention Shady Grove), but the whole thing is really great. The overall sound is natural and warm with great bass. The vocals sound smooth and sweet throughout without the grit and grain that gets in the way on some copies I've heard. A really sweet record!
4 1/2 stars Allmusic: "Considered one of the finest early country-rock albums, this showed the Everlys, unlike virtually every other top rock & roll act of the '50s, keeping abreast of contemporary rock and pop trends."
Cover: VG+ (solid, light wear around edges, light ringwear)
Play notes: Plays quietly and sounds very good!
We prefer to overdeliver and therefore grade conservatively. Our scale runs Near Mint (NM), Excellent (EX), Very Good Plus (VG+), Very Good (VG), Good Plus (G+), Good (G).
