This is a really nice (and super rare) original US pressing of The Zombies' debut. It's the version pressed at Columbia Terre Haute, which is one I've found to constantly perform well in comparison with the versions from other plants. This is one of the cleanest copies I've seen or expect to see, since you almost never see original pressings of this album. There are light hairlines you can see under hard light but nothing that would be feelable. The cover is also in wonderful condition with just some light wear to the bottom seam and the corners. The sound is quite strong and there's light surface noise at times (faint ticks behind the music) but nothing major or overpowering. It's a wonderful copy of a rare classic that I felt lucky to own for a while, and now I'd like to pass it on. If you think this price is crazy, check out what the Brit originals go for!
5 stars Allmusic: "One of the most enduring long players to come out of the entire British psychedelic boom, mixing trippy melodies, ornate choruses, and lush Mellotron sounds with a solid hard rock base."
Vinyl: VG+ (light hairlines, nothing major)
Cover: VG+ (light wear to corners, moderate wear bottom seam)
Play notes: A strong copy that plays well, lightly ticky behind the music in a few spots but a great listen
We prefer to overdeliver and therefore grade conservatively. Our scale runs Near Mint (NM), Excellent (EX), Very Good Plus (VG+), Very Good (VG), Good Plus (G+), Good (G).
