This is a super clean Verve Blue Label pressing from the '60s. There are so many variations of this one that it's tough to pin down exactly which one it is but it has no skull on the cover, no band name on the spine, the Warhol credit on the back cover and no address on the label. More importantly to me, it sounds good and quietly. This is probably the most "lo-fi" of VU's recordings but this copy does a fine job with it. Importantly, it doesn't smooth out the essential raw quality of the music. Take that away and you have a different album. A wonderful copy to crank up loud and get lost in.
5 stars Allmusic: "Anyone wanting to hear their guitar-mauling tribal frenzy straight with no chaser will love it."
